Climbing Club
Every Tuesday
Climb up our magnificent 30ft climbing wall at our popular After School
Climbing Club. Open to all 8 - 16 year olds this club is a great way to
make friends while trying an exhilarating sport. Held at our 70 acre
site in Small Heath Birmingham each session at the Climbing Club costs
just £5 per child and takes place every Tuesday from 6pm - 7.30pm |
Canoe Club
Every Wednesday
Join The Ackers After School Canoe Club and learn the basics of paddling
as well as sprint and slalom racing. Open to all 8 - 16 year olds and
costing just £5 per session it is a great way to get active this summer.

Ski Club
Every Thursday
Ski down our fantastic 100m dry slope with the expert tuition of our
instructors at our After School Ski Club. Open to all 8 - 16 year olds
we can teach you the basics of skiing and even give you tips on race
training and developing your skiing technique. Running every Thursday
from 6pm - 7.30pm this is a great opportunity to try an extreme sport.

35th Birmingham Boys' Brigade Company
We meet at Shirley Methodist Church for boys between the ages of 15 to 18
years of age. Anchors (5-8s) meet on a Wednesday at 5.45pm, followed by
Juniors (8-11s) at 7.45pm. The Company and Seniors (11-18) meet on Tuesday
at 7.30pm. Any new members would be very welcome to come and join and see
what we do in our full programme, including our annual week away in the

The Sea Cadet Corps is a nationwide voluntary uniformed youth organisation,
open to young people aged 12 to 18 and with Junior Sections open to those of
10 to 12 years of age, regardless of sex, religion or race, and within the
bounds of safety to themselves and others, to those with special needs.
We have a rank structure modelled on that of the Royal Navy, giving Cadets
an opportunity to progress and take up positions of responsibility as they
acquire skills and seniority. On reaching 18, many Cadets choose to stay on
as adult instructors, when their training and talents become invaluable.
