The best pub in brum!!!!

I think what a lot of people/customers don't realise is that
when you work behind the damn bar at the woodmans or anywhere else you
get paid disgustingly. You pay peanuts you get monkeys. And you have to
put up with abuse from idiots who think they are better than you, and
say things like "I pay your wages". In a boozer that takes 1.5 million a
year. Yeah, one customer makes a big difference.

Great place and the staff are so friendly. the glass
collector especially as he stopped and had a chat with us and really
made us feel at home. since hearing that he is going to leave i dont
think me and my friends will be drinking there anymore as he was the
only reason we went into the pub. we'll all miss you john dodd xxxx.

My little local,
not cheap but since when is anywhere at the moment. Great place to sit
with mates and general atmosphere is relaxed and is a good place to be
at.

I think you'll find
EMMA that there are at least 6 people that have worked at the woodmans
for over 4 years and 2 that have worked there for going on 20 years so
take your head out of your ass and realise that you dont pay there
wages. how about if u never came to the woodies again we'll see just how
many members of staff lose there jobs due to the miniscule amount of
money we'd lose from ur obviously unwanted custom I can tell u right
now, NOONE. As for the comment on the mystery guest your clearly the
kind of person that would apply to be one to get a free drink and
because you've got nothing better to do.

Good pub, great staff and a nice place to meet friends. Drinks are a
bit pricy - but unless you are in the British Legion where are they
cheap now a days !

The beer is a little over priced and some of the customers (as with
most pubs) need to learn some basic manners, however, the Woodmans has a
friendly drinking environment with efficient courteous staff. I can
recommend this establishment if you prefer an environment that is not
full of Solihull's scummy elements. However, this pub has more customers
than any other in the area, therefore expect a good 10 -15 minute wait
before being served on Friday nights. The Friday night staff endeavour
to serve us as soon as possible, a task that is often hindered by
dealing with the usual culprits of bar flies, people pushing in, and
people blatantly ignoring the no smoking signs at the bar. By enlarge, a
highly enjoyable night out, keep it up!

Surly, I think You'll find that it is the drinkers that make the
place, and from what I can gather, the Woodmans goes through staff like
there's no tomorrow, as people can't stand the atmosphere, so you should
remember that next time you attack someone who merely made a comment you
disagree with. You should also remember that if people don't like the
attitude of some of the staff, (of which you are obviously a member)
they won't come back, and you would be without your job. What, are you a
bit gutted because you didn't get 100% on your mystery guest report?
Shame, eh?

Very lively atmosphere with good facilities & beer garden.
Drinks don't come cheap though!

Had a few pints there between 1974 and 1978 when I lived on School Rd

Ted- I don't know who you think you are but I think you'll find it's the
staff that make the pub as the drinkers wouldn't be in there without any
staff. I presume you were waiting at the bar for two minutes before
being served rather than having the world revolving solely around you. I
think you need to be reminded that one moaning barfly drinking elsewhere
is not likely to break a pub.
Up the Woodies!
Surly
Used to work there, great place.

Our local. Well worth a look any night of the week. Beers a bit steep for a boozer but
great night out with friends.
Ben
Nice Pub! But should remember the drinkers make the pub not the staff!!
Ted
Good mix of age groups for a local. Good food and staff. Still one of the most 'normal'
pubs in Solihull - a favourite.
Mike
Great pub with a great atmosphere.
Jo
Just been refurbished, and its really lovely. Foods out of this world and drinks are
reasonably priced. great when you can sit outside in the sun!
