Visited the Saxon last Sunday for a carvery. What a fantastic meal and great value. I will certainly be visiting again.

I visited a nearby business and running late decided to have lunch here.  It was quite empty (2pm Thur) but standard for a simple pub, no frills with food, price fair and I enjoyed my chilli and rice better than in a lot of other places I have eaten.  Dont know about evening but was fine for lunch.  Will eat there again.

Can't believe you feel this Amy. I only started drinking in there since the change of new management. They make all newcomers welcome, well that's been my experience anyway and  I don't live in Cheswick Green. Great food especially the carvery on a Sunday.

Tuesday 22nd February - We just got back from having a excellent meal and good service and best of all the right price - couldn't fault it.  Recommend to anybody who likes a good steak at the right price.

Rubbish unless you are a local. Drunk lads making really dirty comments at me and my mates. Swearing loudly and the local 'girls' giving us dirty looks. We only went in for a bottle of wine !!

There has been an enormous improvement with The Saxon in Cheswick Green Shirley Solihull. The new management are very friendly and welcoming. They provide a mix of entertainment including regular live music and disco's. All the food is homemade and freshly prepared. The have good wines, beer and cask ales which are all well kept. Events can be catered for within the pub such as birthdays, christenings or charity functions. They hold a QUIZ Night on a SUNDAY evening. POKER on a TUESDAY evening, MONDAY TO THURSDAY is only £2.60 a pint...Carling, Coors & Strongbow.....
FRIDAY is band or disco night and they have some really good bands on. They now show LIVE SPORTS on the BIG SCREEN and have Wi-Fi fitted for FREE internet access.

Well I for one  was pleased to see the back of Gemma and co, and I had hi hopes for the new management change, but once again The Saxon is well below par, the food is awful, the beer is expensive, the new managers can be unfriendly, and rude. I would not recommend this pub even if it is my local.

Thank god there's been a change of management, so refreshing looks like the new gaffers have TLC and passion for the pub. Great staff, menu is super and of course beers served to the correct temperature, loving every nite out there come and join me and my friends for a relaxing nite out

I was invited in here for a drink by one of the regulars. I have never been in such a dismal unfriendly pub. The locals do what they like, foul language and unruly youths. Can't comment on food as didn't want to stay long enough to eat. When will the landlords take control?

Any1 who has badmouthed the Saxon is seriously wrong!! the atmosphere is great and friendly and the food is excellent!! the bar staff are friendly and always give u the time of day. Good prices too. A great pub with good atmosphere for nights out and families too.

I wouldn't give the Saxon 1 star, it has the worst atmosphere, staff food everything. it used to be such a wonderful friendly place to go for a drink and a meal, but since the renewal of management the place has hit rock bottom. change the management and BRING BACK THE LOCALS.

Best pub in the west midlands, great atmosphere!! service= 5 star!!  Excellent food and the staff are very helpful. the landlord and land lady are the nicest people you would ever meet!!!!

Used to be a great local pub with warm atmosphere.
What went wrong! Its so cold, and no customers. All the Saxon regulars were so disgusted they have all moved to the Bulls Head with welcoming management !!!! What are the brewery thinking of ?

Wonderful Sunday Lunch - large group all catered for. Food excellent - couldn't have been more friendly. Setting light, airy and clean. Service 10/10. I believe Landlady/Lord are Gerry and Malcolm. You have to speak to people to get people to speak back Sandra.
