Now it is all boarded up round pub and car park.  Looks like the housing rumour is now coming to pass.  Nice timing to sell them easily!

This pub has gone downhill very fast idle bar staff, ignorant bar staff, unhelpful bar staff, it appears that the customers are an inconvenience most of the time. what a shame it was an excellent pub at one time ,now it is just a shambles.

Nice atmosphere and good for a drink - however do not have food there, the service is terrible!  Me and my partner went there on a very quiet afternoon, our meal took 1 hour and 15 minutes to arrive, and that was after chasing the bar staff twice.  Also, when we ordered a cup of tea, we were told to take a seat and they would bring it over to us, however 20 minutes later and no tea - we went to the bar and they said that they couldn't see us so they presumed we didn't want it anymore???  It is a shame, as the food was nice when it eventually came, however you cannot relax, you have to constantly be on their backs to make sure you get served!!!  I would recommend the Greville Arms instead just a mile further up Damson Lane - delicious food and brilliant service.

Used to be good, but now empty shell of old self,pub has been run badly by brewery and several temporary managers have failed to do anything while the so called manager was running another pub, while his fell into ruin.. I have heard its now been sold, and houses will be put there instead its a sad state of affairs but who's surprised.

Brilliant bar staff, the best one is Gemma. The entertainment is ok depending on the night. The foods good when its on hahahah.

I work at the old colonial and I personally feel its a great place to drink. All the staff are very friendly, the entertainment is great, and we show almost any football game you want. Come down and see us.

I would have to agree with Claire, it is quite a nice little place, used to go there all the time and get the huge pitchers of beer. Curry and a pint night on a Thursday is quality as well.

Nice little pub. Quiz nights are always a laugh if you don't mind being humiliated and karaoke night's great if you want to laugh at other people! Just round the corner from my boyfriend's too which is handy if I have a few too many!
