I think that this school was amazing and i will truly miss it. I
have to give a round os applause to da staff and da governing board for
such a great job at the school and alot of thanxs to Miss Westwood [head
teacher] for an atstanding job. my three favourite teachers are: Mr
McCracken...Mr Ward...and Miss Donnely [i still dont know how to spell
her name]. However all my other teachers were great aswell and dont
deserve any less applause. The most memorable time i have had at
this school was...ummm......when i went to laser quest with the P.E
class to laser quest and as we were entering there were some kids who
thought the were all ''gangstar'' and ''hard'' blew canabis smoke in my
face which made me have a headache....lol....naaa...im sure i have
better memories. Finally i must say thankyou to my form tutors for being
great supporters of me and helping me: Mr Hains and Mrs Burrows.

Hello folks, I don't suppose I'm old
enough to be writing messages on this board but hey ho. I left Lyndon in June 2001 after
finishing my GCSE's. Mrs. Westwood was the Head, Mr. Ash was Deputy Head, Mr Ricketts was
Head of Year and Mr. Powell was my Form Tutor throughout the five years. After that I went
to Solihull Sixth Form College with most other people to do science A Levels which was
probably best move of my life. I have my final Chemistry exam tomorrow and its 6.19am so I
should probably be revising. I leave college after that and unfortunately I will probably
lose contact with the people I remember from Lyndon. We are going to try and keep in touch
but I guess when you get to 18 you know things aren't always that easy. I am off to
Bristol Uni in October to do Anatomy, Physiology and Biochem and I'm bit nervous about
leaving home. Anyway, If you wanna get in touch you have my email and I'd love to hear
from you. Cya soon folks, all the best......... Neil xx

Hey. Just a quick hello to anyone who knows me from my Lyndon days. I was a student there
from 1996-2001. Was wondering how people are? I will never forget the days spent at
Lyndon, they were some of the best years of my life so far. For anyone that's interested,
I have just completed my A-Levels and am now studying music at Vienna Conservatoire in
Austria. Anyone that wants to get in touch, please do, would be great to hear from people.

Yahoo messenger lets you easily communicate by text, voice or even
webcam with selected friends. Simply enter their email address and if they accept, you
will be able to chat either one to one or in groups. Add a microphone and you can all talk
to each other. You can even use this page to arrange meetings of large numbers of friends.
Thanks Lyndon for everything, I left in 2001. I am having a great time
now but at Lyndon I had the best years ever I WISH I WAS BACK AT SCHOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lisa Camwell (No email address supplied)
HA HA! I'm BACK! So, how are you all? Missing me yet? Well, I have lots
and lots of fond memories of my beloved Lyndon, how I miss it so! My favourite would be
sitting at the bottom of the staff room stairs when I fractured my knee and making sure
that everyone was happy and ready to work! The only person who actually appreciated it was
Mr Brian Ash, YOU'RE A DUDE! Anyway, I shall be back to see you soon, I doubt I'll be at
the reunion as it's my 19th birthday! WOO-HOO!!! Anyway, love ya and leave ya! Miss you
all! Luv Lots, Daiz XxX ;-)

IThey
say that the school days are the best days of your lives ... so I’ve
gone back! I’m now the Network Manager and started working there in July
2000, only two years after leaving. I’m getting married in September! I
still see some of my old friends, but regrettably have fallen out of
contact with others. If you want to, drop me a line. My details aren’t
that difficult to find on the Internet...
Daniel Dainty
I was in Lyndon in 1998 and moved to Spain when I was going into year
11.
I miss all my old friends and get really home sick some times, if any of my old mates read
this please get in touch I miss you all and would love to speak to you lot again. I love
Spain and am currently studying Art and Sociology. I hope every one is doing what
they wanted.
My sister and I were not happy to leave my home my boyfriend my good mates and my family.
But the thing I miss the most is Solihull because I grew up there, all my memories are
there. I cried for a long time after I left but now I have the people I knew and Solihull
is in my memories.
Donna Harley
I was a pupil at Lyndon until leaving at the sweet age of 16 in May
1994.
The last time I set foot in the school was Oct '94, and this was to pick up some
certificates. I haven't seen anyone from my year for quite some time and want to know what
people are up to now. I'm not sure how many people will remember me, I was fairly quiet at
school. I was in class 11B when I left after the dreaded GCSE exams. Mr Lawton was my last
form teacher. If anyone can remember me, please get in touch and let me know how life is
treating you!
James Wilson

and 1981. I then went to the 6th form and from there did a couple of degrees in
London. After working overseas for a while I've been back in the UK and living in
Cambridge for the past 3 years. Fav teacher was definitely Mr Martin the maths

in the back of the class.

John Kitchen
I attended Lyndon 1969 to 1974. would like to hear from anybody else who
was there during this period.
Stephen Prosser
Former Chapel Fields then Lyndon School 1969-1974.Contact me if any of
these names ring bells:- Richard Badland(RIP), Martin Humpheries, Ian Docker, Mark
Mansell, Kevin McKee et al. On the teaching side I'm surprised that none of the other
entries at time of writing mention Ian 'Chad' Chadderton- all round good bloke. Old age
lends itself to thinking that school days were blissfully happy when in reality they were
probably really quite crap. Still, Lyndon prepared you for life's ups and downs as good as
anywhere and the teachers were at least characters. Here's to you Sam Carter, Charlie
Bull, Winnie Poole, Old Man Bassett, Morris Chilton & Beaky Thomas. Wherever you are,
Good Luck and Best Wishes to all ex-Lyndonites.
Jez Price
I would still like to hear from anyone in class 2A to 5A through the years of 1969
to 1974.I now live in Bedfordshire, married with 2 children, enjoying my mid-life crisis
by looking back as we all do, to those years that only seem a blink of an eye away. It
would be good if any of the teaching staff mentioned in my earlier posting could write and
let us know how the old place is doing.
Phil Johnson
I am trying to locate Jeffrey Garrett who used to go to Lyndon High
School for boys... then to Solihull Technical College... I attended Lyndon High School for
Girls in the 70's. I know he lives on Meriden Rise...... I left England in 1976 to come to
Canada....I would love to contact him via e-mail...
If anyone knows or can help me find him I will be eternally grateful.
Janet Davis
Hello. Went to Lyndon school. Left about 1972. Hung around with Colin Norman.Kevin
Patterson.Paul Stokes.(You still owe me a pound Stokes!) Are the police still looking for
you? Paul once threw a terd onto the ceiling in the lav, it defied gravity as mr Carter
the head teacher berated us for being inside the school. Is he still alive? I can still
Remember Keith Fellows/Lovegrove/D.Bates/Roy Harris/O,Grady/Snotty Smith/Wookey (It was
Colin norman and me who nobbled your bike and nicked your sandwiches) Good and bad
memories. It took me a long time to forgive Brian O'Grady for pushing some excrement into
my face! I bet you're all looking a little....worn round the edges now. All the
best. Live in Dorset now.Three children, married to the same woman since 1983 after
leaving the forces.
Richard Mosley (Lampost/Mose or Dick)
Finding this site has brought back some memories. I was there in a previous life till
about 1972. I remember having great laughs but not learning a lot. I remember names like
Alan Bradford (now A&B Decorating I believe) Pete Goodwin (PC Goodwin -
sheep-clothing-wolf springs to mind) Graham Jones, Kenny Davis, Richard Ludgrove
(infamous), SS Uganda cruise, Mr Chadderton, Mr Poole, Mr jenkins(3 of the best - not the
teachers that's what Mr Jenkins gave me for getting my Maths wrong), Keith Seargent
fighting with Mr Jenkins during the Boys v Teachers rugby match, David Earp, Howard
Bednall, Stephen Freeland, Geoffrey Richards, Nigel Sterenburgh, Thomas Rowson, Geoff
Povey, Steven Wilkes, Stephen Myatt, Denise someone (first snog), Kevin Patterson, Paul
Mudd, Kevin Mudd, Gary Wookey, Alan Hull (a.k.a. Al Ashton of London's Burning fame), Mark
Green( maybe the one also mentioned in another note - did you have a younger sister?) ..
any many more. Good luck to you all and thanks for the memories.
Keith Fellows
Hi, I am looking to locate some "old" friends from the Solihull
area, I started my schooling at Valley Road Infants school in 1961, went to Hatchford
Brook 1963-1967, then I failed my 11 plus (no new bike!) and went to Lyndon High School
for boys 1967-1972. I completed 1 year at Solihull Technical College. While I was going to
school, I worked at Ray Hitchcocks sports shops, both the one in High Street, and the one
next to Beatties. I then worked at Beatties until I emigrated to Canada
in 1975. I lived the whole time in Windsor Drive, and was part of the
Windsor Drive Five, consisting of myself, Stephen Lewis, Stewart
Jackson, Leslie McCoy, and Nick English. we got into many scrapes
together, and had a couple of visits from the local constabulary. Its
tough to remember names from that far back, but I seem to remember
another boy in my class with the same name as me, we were identified by
our middle initials, Mark F, and Mark J, I also remember a Carolyn Grey,
who used to live on Dovehouse Lane, I think, and a Martin Greensmith. At Lyndon I had Mr
Armstrong ( we called him legweak ) and Mr Dibble for technical drawing, remember his
nose, we used to duck whenever he came around the corner so it wouldn't hit us!! I was
madly in love with a girl named Pamela Watson, her mom ran a hair stylists on Old Lode
Lane. I have very fond memories of my times in Solihull, and would love to get back in
touch with some of the people. I now live in the U.S.A. and dont get much of a chance to
get back there. By the way, does anyone remember the "Catains Locker" pub. it
was down some stairs in the High Street, they had the best chip buttie I ever ate. So, if
you were at those schools at the same time, or remember me from Rays, or Beatties, or even
the A.T.C. on Haslucks Green Rd, please send me an e-mail, I would be thrilled to hear
from you. Also if John from 492 Squadron A.T.C. reads this, please write me again, one of
my kids erased your e-mail, and I could not reply. I hope to hear from someone soon, and
remember Up the Blues, Down The Villa !!!
Mark Green
1960's/1971 Margaret and Julie Webber, Jackie Field, Beverley
Stansfield, Valerie Harper, Jill Eastfield (Keith Fellows) Mrs Harrison (head) Mrs H?

same time as Kathryn Wilde, Dorothy Bridgins, Susan Lipet, Maralyne
Reeves, Silvia Giles. Was there then when Miss Collins(Deputy Head)was
there. Does anyone know or keep in touch with any of these girls from
that time?
Christina Heath (Booth)
I was at Lyndon school from 1962 to 1966 class 1c-4c I wonder if anybody
remembers me also my brother Alan class 1c-4c 1964-1968 and before that
at Chapel Fields. I wonder if anybody remembers Mr Spencer (music) and
the slipper! would be nice to here from anybody from that time.
John Roberts
I attended Lyndon High School (for Girls as it was then) in the 60's.
Miss Wright was headmistress and Miss Collins (who took us for
needlework) was deputy. I remember spending over a year doing cross
stitch making our aprons ready for domestic science lessons (which have
always stood me in good stead - but didn't appreciate then) the next
year! My best friend was Karen Bragg in the year above me and my class
mates with Gillian King, Mavis Hewson and Christine Barnes. I went out
with Ron Little and John Parry from the boys school. We had some times
then didn't we? Remember the 'bops' at the school - great days!
Jill Bayliss (nee Stace)
I was at Lyndon for a short time around the years 63/64, what I really like about it was how close it was to our house (Melton Ave) after 4 years of slogging it all the way to Chapel Fields, Lyndon was a result!!! Now living in Turkey and loving it, enjoy life everyone. Wayne Matthews
I attended Lyndon from 1963 to 1968. Finished in 5t in Mrs Tuckers Class. I went on to Solihull Tech to get my O and A Levels and then to Sheffield Uni. I lived and worked in Yorkshire for 10 years before returning to Brum in 1981. In 1987 we went to live in Frankfurt for a year, after which i returned to do my MBA at Aston. !n 1990 we went to live in the south of France for a year. Eight weeks back in England before emigrating to Australia. I often think about friends at school and what they are doing now. I wonder what ever happened to Miss Collins and Miss Harrison. Do any of you remember going on a joint school trip to Swizterland? I really regret never being given the opportuniy to do languages at school. It certainly would have helped me in later life. I think if i had been given any decent career guidance i would have taken quite a different path in life Ann Llewellyn
I was at Lyndon between 1964 and 1968. The Lyndon experience, as I
remember it was mainly a preparation for employment in the local
industrial economy. In the city of a thousand trades, I left Lyndon with
a thousand opportunities. However, the Goddess Fortune had made other
plans for me. For, it seems that manual work is not my forte. My
thousand opportunities were transformed into a thousand prohibitions by
disability. On the eve of this great awakening to the fickleness
of Fortune, my life changed. I went to a very rare adult college called
Fircroft. Fircroft College is one of the Selly Oak Colleges, affiliated
to Birmingham University. It is six months older than Birmingham
University. It was founded by George Cadbury in 1909. As I understand
things, Fircroft was based upon the Danish Folk High Schools of the
nineteenth century. As I understand things, Fircroft's mission was to
further the cause of education and of intellectual and spiritual
fellowship amongst working folks. I graduated from Fircroft to
Birmingham Polytechnic (University of Central England) in 1988. I passed
an entrance examination to read for an honours degree in English.
Disability prevented me from completing this degree course. The Fircroft
experience prepared adults for life beyond the local industrial economy.
It gave me a foundation for a disabled life without work. Fortune
reappraised my situation and put me in touch with a private tutor. My
private tutor has persevered with the obstacles thrown up by my
disability. For the last four years, I have been a successfully
published author. My creative work has been published by Pinpoint
Magazine. Pinpoint Magazine is published by Disability West Midlands.
Their website address is
http://www.dwm.org.uk. There is a link for Pinpoint Poetry which
leads to a short list of published authors.

period who remembers me from that year or before. Been a long time so

I was a
Lyndon from 64 -69 when I left to work for Land Rover as an apprentice.
I had a brief flirtation with the music business in the mid 70's to
early 80's and still play in a couple of bands. I recently married for
the first time and now have a son, we still live locally. I remember
some of the people from my years at Lyndon and would love to hear from
anyone who remembers me or those day.
Chris Gill
I left Lyndon Boys in 1969 with
six CSE's and an 'O' level (do they still have those?) My fortunes have faired well since
then and after Jobs too numerous to mention I now find myself teaching English (which I
was crap at in school) and Drama to high school kids. I now live in Sydney, Australia and
am still passionate about sport - I HATE it! I still have my Speech Day booklet with a
list of my peers though these days there are gaps in the old memory. I even have the words
to the school song....'We build our school on thee our Lord...' The list has hepled me
shape a few 'memoirs' I am committing to paper. I recall Mr Carter in his black gown
(Batman), Armstrong (Legweak), Mr. Dibble, Mr.Jennings (Maths), Mr. Smith (woodwork), Mr
CLarke (science) Mr. George (maths), Mr.Waters (PE!) Mr Bennett (PE) Mr Hankinson (geog)
and Mr Berry (RE). I guess there are others I remember but that will do for now. Look
forward to any contact with old colleagues who left about the same time! My sisters also
attended Lyndon so I will be happy to pass on any messages. Jackie Field left in '71 and
Maxine about four years later. This is a great idea, sorry I cannot make the reunion.
Des Field
Attended Lyndon High School for Girls in the 60s. Now back living
in Solihull after living in Guernsey and Reading. Married with two sons, aged 25 and 23.
Does anyone remember Miss Marshall (music), Mrs. Tucker (how I dreaded maths lessons!),
Mrs. Worth, Miss Willoughby and the art teacher whose name I can't remember but sadly died
of cancer. Would love to hear from class mates - Susan Ainge, Kathryn Gardner, Val Smith,
Stella Richardson, Christine Shotton, Linda Trevelyan, Ann Woodward.
Jill Moore
I was in classes 1a to 5a,1965 to1970 and would much like to meet old
class-mates for a jaw about old times and compare beer guts and bald heads!
Andrew (Andy) Bent
I attended Lyndon from 1964 to 1968 and would like to hear from anyone
who was in 1C-4C.
Melvyn Jones
I was at Lyndon High School for boys between 1963 and 1968. I was
previously at Chapelfields Junior and before that Daylesford. I have only just
discovered this website and would love to hear from anybody that remembers me. I was then
about 6'4" and 10 stone dripping wet. I'm still about 6'4" but alas have long
left behind a maximum weight of 10 stone. I still live locally and have many happy
memories of Mr Hankinson's reminiscences of Burma, Mr Dibble's precise technical drawing,
Mr Davis' crazy driving of the school bus and a couple of wicked trips to Switzerland when
we were joined with Lyndon Girls School. Other names that come to mind, Mr & Mrs
Bull, Mr (Legweak) Armstrong, Mr Bassett, Mr Schultz, Mr Maker & Mr Maker, 'Sam'
Carter (Head), Mr 'Clicker' Clarke and I'm sure many others whose names will come
back to me when prodded.
My only claims to fame during my time at Lyndon were getting the whack in the playground
in front of the whole school on my first day by Mr Dibble (for moving after the whistle
sounded), having a bit of success throwing the discuss and ending up as Head Prefect
(totally unjustified).
Pupils names that come to mind are Stephen Wilkes, Stephen Stokes, Robert Neale, Stuart
Owen and Stephen Jones. I look forward to hearing from anybody from this era.
Andrew Green
I just discovered your website. I attended the school from about 1963
until 1967 at which time I graduated with CSE and some 'O' level GCE courses. My family
and I immediately emigrated to Canada. I am currently living in St. Thomas Ontario and
would love to hear from some of my old classmates. Here are some of their names: Geoff
Clarke, Steve Newman, Chris Surrey, Anthony James, Paul Humphreys.
I still have my program folder for "Speech Day" held on Thursday October 26th,
1967.
John R. Edwards
Ann Saddington (nee Docker) and Roy Saddington attended Lyndon from
1960-1965. Married March 1969. We have two children and two grand children and have lived

Have just come across your website and oh how it brought back memories. I
attended Chapel Fields School from 1950 to 1957 then on to Lyndon High School for Girls
(as it was called at that time) the to Sutton Lodge (now Solihull Technical College I
think. Does anyone know where Ann Saunders, Jayne Taylor, Alison Phillips, Norma Chambers
might be. (probably different surnames). I remember biking Hobs Moat and walking
along the canal banks, bluebelling in spring. Will be back April 2001 - Now live in
Winnipeg, Canada.
So many of us move away but retain such good memories.
Does anyone know where Howard Shaw might be?
Brenda Guttridge
Ex Lyndon High School for Boys ( mid 1960's) living in USA since 1973. In
U.K in April and June on business. Would like to locate any "old" school mates.
Dave Ashworth
I would love to hear from anyone who attended (what was then) Lyndon High
School for Girls/Boys during the period 1958-1963. And those who remember Friday nights at
Lyndon Youth Club!
Lorna Quorn
I was at Lyndon from '57-'61. Was always up to something dodgy but
enjoyed every minute!
I remember when we bought our first school bus, a real old banger from Midland Red. It got
painted in a lilac colour. Never knew why. We took a trip to London in it once down the M1
which had not been open very long, but we were still the slowest vehicle on the motorway.
Our destination was the Houses of Parliament and then the Tower of London. Does anyone out
there remember that one or me even?
My two best mates were Roger Smith who went to work at the council offices, and Jennifer
Holland, my first passion.
Robin Woodcock
I didn't go to Lyndon, I was a Lode Heathian, but I have fond memories of two things from
my association with the school in the late 50's, the hard fought games of rugby and my
first love. I wonder what June Burrows is up to these days. She had a twin sister,
Ann who also went to Lyndon left around 1960/61.
Trevor Jones
Just interested to hear from anyone who remembers me. Particularly keen
to find out whatever happened to Michael Hayes, Kathryn Jones, Adrian Moyens and, of
course, Alison Henry.

think they were also at Chapel Fields together. If anyone knows of Graham it would be
great to surprise my brother with the info. Cheers, Richard Wilford
Martyn Welch c/o Richard Wilford
I transferred to Lyndon High School for Boys from
Turves Green Sec. Mod. in late 1957. I was in 4G and then into the 5th year and left in
July 1959. The head was Mr J. Moore, and I had Mr. Dibble for Tech. Draw., Mr. Hankinson
for Geography (and others), but do not remember the teacher for Maths or Science. Best
subjects, Tech Drawing (top of the class) and Maths. Worst subjects Music, History and
Art. Liked playing hockey and cricket, hated the cross country running we were forced to
do in the most horrible weather. Remember, 1) a guy called Peter who was a diabetic and
had to weigh out all his food, 2) The art class where someone did a superb drawing of
"The Flying Purple People Eater", 3) Jubblies, 4)The no-mans-land boundary
between the boys and girls playgrounds, 5) Maureen Deakin, 6)falling off my bike on the
way to school one morning, spending the whole day at Solihull Hospital and arriving back
at school at 3.30 with my left arm plastered straight, and many more. If anyone remembers
the session we had at the end of the 5th year playing Buddy Holly, Connie Francis, and
Elvis then get in touch.
Anyone from that time in 4G or the 5th in '59 please send me an email
Philip Mudd
I left Lyndon School in July 1957. I now live in Port Elizabeth, South
Africa and would like to contact anyone from that era. I will be in UK (Stratford area
during December)
