The service was poor, they had run out of mussels, the seafood was
icy and had little flavour. The vegetables arrived long after the main
meal and after many requests.

The only reason i am taking the time to comment is due to the
fact i can not believe the people of Knowle rate it as reasonable £6 for
a small wine!! i have a list which if i wanted to nip pick i would go on
to mention but i wont just the burnt salmon, the over kill of stem
ginger, the hair in my friends food the scrambled creme brulee, and the
lack of rocket in the rocket salad, for £108.00 it left a bitter taste,
not to mention the ginger repeating!!! the waiter who likes to lean! did
however sort the salad and offered to change the salmon, we felt we
couldn't say anything about the rest due to the other things, too much to
moan about, will not be returning!! if you want to be robbed go try it,
not value for money not quality cooking sorry loch fyne of Knowle.

Fabulous kippers, shame that the other things we ordered were
average at best - although we have been before and it's been good, so
perhaps just a one-off.

It was my first time here for a meal tonight and I couldn't fault
the meal or service. I was one of a party of eight and we all thoroughly
enjoyed it.

Four of us went for The Christmas menu. We arrived at the pre
arranged time and were seated and then waited to be asked about drinks.
Whilst four members of staff were sorting out the decorations on the
Xmas tree we continued to wait, eventually having to ask for the wine
list. The mussel starter consisted of very small tasteless mussels in a
curdled sauce. Steak and duck were really nice but the salmon was
overcooked! Very poor for a fish restaurant.
Service was at best only ok. Why do waiting staff not realise that a
smile and a bit of effort will get them a tip. Ours didn't. Puddings
were all good. This is my third evening visit to Loch Fyne and I won't
be rushing back. One of the party had never been before and had the fish
and definitely won't be returning or recommending Loch Fyne.

The food is superb, with lovely fresh seafood. If you go
during one of these restaurant's quiet times, you will have a great time
- the staff do seem to struggle when it gets busy. My first visit was
faultless, but a few minor service mistakes on my second visit mean the
service drops from a 4 to a three for this review. A place for a special
treat, but not for a quick meal on the way to somewhere else.

We have family gatherings at this restaurant 3 or 4 times a
year, and it has improved its menu and its service over the last six
months. We will continue meeting there for the foreseeable future.

The menu was excellent, but overall the food was tasteless.
The service was the poorest I have ever encountered. The drinks we
ordered took ages. The side salad arrived after we had finished
our meal!!

Was really disappointed by Loch Fyne. I took my girlfriend
there as a surprise as she loves shellfish, she had the moules (which
were over cooked, and quite frankly smelt of excrement) and the lobster
which was chewy and overcooked. Our garden vegetables had to be sent
back as they were stone cold. I, however, had the steak (I don't like
seafood) and found it to be one of the tastiest steaks I've had ever!
Not good for a speciality seafood restaurant. Service was below average.

I went there a couple of years ago in a foursome. I remember
slow clumsy and stoney-faced service, uncomfortable chairs, small
tables, average food (which was pretty expensive for the content and
surroundings). Have not been back although I live locally, very
unlikely to go back either!

Went there for the £10 for 2 course promotion as we'd never
been before and couldn't be bothered cooking so thought we'd give it a
try. If this is an attempt to get more people in to try the food and
become regulars then they really need to up the standard. Just because
it's a promotion they really shouldn't compromise on the quality as it
will bring down their reputation. We were really disappointed with the
food and the service was very unfriendly. Even at £10 we felt we'd
overpaid. We won't be going back....

The
food here was the best presented and the tastiest out of all the seafood
restaurants I have attended even overseas! The only problem is
that you have spotty school kids with an attitude problem trying to take
your order.
