Hi there, I visited La Tasca on 24.4.08 for my 23rd Birthday and
invited 8 of my family members to join in the celebration at la Tasca.
This was the first time here and will definitely be my last. The service
was disgusting, even though I had booked a table no-one seemed to know
we were booked. We were asked three times by the none English speaking
waitress for drinks and three times we had to tell her we had not been
given a menu to pick drinks from. We had to ask for our table to be
wiped (which was done reluctantly ) and our menu's were dumped on the
table - at this point I thought I'm not even going to bother spending my
money in here, luckily we got a table at Cafe Rouge which was amazing,
great food and great service.

I have visited this restaurant many times over the last 3 years
and always found it to be an enjoyable experience. Charming & pleasant
staff always willing to spend time explaining menu items and give
recommendations. However having visited last weekend I will not be
returning. The service was appalling, food simply inedible. Whatever has
changed there, change it back if you want to retain your loyal customer
base.

Having read all other comments on here we went for lunch. Sat
down and immediately someone came over to explain it was a new menu and
some of the ingredients hadn't been delivered so six items were off the
menu. No problem as plenty to choose from. Had the Seafood tapas for two
. It consisted of seven dishes. On the menu it was seafood paella and we
got vegetable paella!! The tortilla was very dry and three dishes were
garnished with spinach and the same mayonnaise. Had a bottle of Rioja
which was lovely and the guy who served us seemed to be doing everything
but still managed to be polite and cheery. All in all have to disagree
about comments about great food and won't be back in a hurry.

I visited La Tasca last Tuesday evening, the place was buzzing.
Having been persuaded to venture into Solihull for a night's
entertainment instead of Bham city centre I was pleasantly surprised to
stumble upon La Tasca Tapas Bar, tucked away in Touchwood. The food was
great, tapas for a tenner, fantastic value for money and Ann (manager
serving our table) was a dream. charming, enthusiastic and far better
company than the girl I had taken. I cant wait to go back, although next
time I will go alone and see where the evening takes me.

I've just returned from a visit to Granada so I was a little
concerned about how La Tasca would compare with the real thing. I
needn't have worried. The food was excellent, up to Spanish standards,
with a mouth-watering garlic mushrooms and a large tasty seafood paella,
rounded off with a tangy orange tart. The service was good and
atmosphere relaxing (fortunately we were the other side of the
restaurant from a hen party).

We held our annual Christmas party at La Tasca this year, the
service was excellent. The food was a welcome change from the
traditional Christmas menu available everywhere else. We ordered from
the set party menu and my only criticism would be that there was so much
food to eat. The atmosphere in that restaurant is always welcoming and
lively, the staff seem to enjoy being there as much as the customers. I
agree that it is one of the nicest places to eat in Solihull.

We love La Tasca, we go each week with our 18 month yr old
son and 3 yr old daughter and each time we are made to feel welcome.
The food is delicious whatever time of day you go. I think it is by far
one of the nicest most welcoming places in Solihull to eat whether as a
lone diner or with a family.

I disagree I visited La Tasca 2 weeks ago and watched the
flamenco show and had a wonderful evening. The food although not
traditional tapas was delicious, the young polish girl who served us
could not have been more attentive. She recommended dishes for us to
try and allowed us to sample the wine before making our decision. We
all enjoyed it so much that we have booked for our Christmas Party and
cancelled our previously booked venue,

Poor. Visited this lunchtime. The restaurant was almost empty
but that did not prevent us waiting over an hour until our meal arrived.
We were not alone, the people on the next table were equally poorly
served. When the meal arrived, most of the dishes were lukewarm or cold,
clearly having been standing for some time. The potato dish was soft and
flaccid; the omlette was cold and the deep fried seafood was soft and
pale. We sent it back and walked out after waiting a further 10 mins. At
this point, one of the waiters, who hadn't bothered to check that
everything was OK anyway, had the nerve to tell us that 'actually' it
wasn't cold. Get your act together! If it isn't properly cooked and hot,
it isn't safe to eat. We walked out hungry. Would not bother to go
again.

Great food, excellent staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Made
me feel like I was in Spain and not rainy old Solihull. We went on a
very busy evening and still we were made to feel as though we were the
only diners. Not rushed at all as you so often are in other more stuffy
restaurants. Well done LA TASCA

I visited La Tasca in Solihull last Saturday with my husband
to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. wonderful food, excellent
service. We enjoyed it so much that we are going to bring our family in
for Christmas when they arrive here from Seville in December. A truly
memorable experience, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone,

I first visited La Tasca 12 months ago, and came away very
disappointed in both the food and the service. However, after speaking
with colleagues at work who had been there or a salsa evening and
enjoyed it I thought that I would give it another chance. I went one
lunchtime with a friend and had the lunchtime offer £4.95 very good
value. Whilst there I was encouraged by the manager to try one of the
new desserts, She recommended the choc & orange cheesecake it was
delicious. At the end of our lunch we stayed chatting to the manager who
tried to persuade us to return for the Salsa classes. We decided against
the classes but have returned several times since to the Friday night
disco and to eat in the restaurant. The service has improved
tremendously since my first visit and I now feel happy to take business
associates with me without fear of embarrassment. Well done La Tasca,
true European hospitality.

We have had 3 meals here, 2 were fantastic but the 3rd has
made me vow never to go back. I treated my fiancé to a meal. I booked
the table a week before but when we got there the was no table for us!!,
we got a table and waited half hour for our drinks. The food came out
and was dumped on the table, took some back as it didn't look like what
we had ordered got the same food back 20 mins later with the receipt
telling us what it was, however it was stone cold. VERY BAD SERVICE.

Despite being
disappointed on a visit in December I decided to give La Tasca another
try, and thank god I did, what a difference! Service was welcoming from
the couple of hosts to the bar and restaurant team. The food was well
presented and delicious. To top it off the DJ who I believe was South
American kept the great Latin atmosphere going till the wee hours.
Excellent all round.

We visited La Tasca on Saturday night without booking. We were told
it would be about an hour's wait for the table. We said that was fine
and we had a drink. Having been shown to our table after exactly one
hour we had to wait just over an hour for our food which was only
lukewarm when it arrived! Food was 'reasonable' though.

In all fairness...La Tasca does not serve the best Tapas dishes and
if superb food is all you are looking for then give it a miss. However
the atmosphere is fantastic and makes up for it easily. Salsa and
dancing add 2 the mood and it is laid back and has an exotic, Spanish
feel.

As bad as it gets I'm afraid... Over priced, low quality, slow
service and all in all a complete rip off. My advice would be to rip up
a couple of twenty pound notes,
eat a tiny meal which leaves you hungry and Watch an episode of El
Dorado for the same effect.

We were very disappointed with La Tasca. There had been a
change of management so the salsa/flamenco dancing had been scrapped. We
waited over an hour between courses. Food OK but jug of Sangria a
complete rip off.
I made a booking over the telephone but on arrival was told they don't
take bookings at all! Be warned.

A great night out in this bar. I discovered it after waiting
to get into Tiggis & never looked back. Food is great and a wonderful
atmosphere at the weekend. Salsa on a Friday & dancing on a Saturday -it's
like being on holiday!!! AND A BONUS POINT FOR NOT RUSHING YOU OUT AT
THE END OF THE EVENING!!!!
