, Sharon K , Susan W, John , David, Vicky, June , Debbie, Kevin, etc

Robin Turrell
Went to Gresworld between 87-90. Remember Mr King and Mr Carnell very
well. Was in the same class as Jonathan Barnes, Katie Munro,
Elizabeth St George? Katie Munro was my first girlfriend I think?
remember being kind of jealous cause she really liked Rick Astley
the singer. remember also going on week long trip to Wales where a
goat deprived me of my field trip work so Mr Carnell had to wrestle
with it to get it back (so funny). Best time of my life going to
that school, great teachers. I've still got my 1990 and of year book
signed by Mr Carnell and the mayor where all pupils write a poem or
something like that.
Robert Parker
I went to Gresworld in 1986. I came from Denmark. I went only for one
year and we returned to Denmark before most of you went to Lode
Heath. Would like to hear from any one who remember the class of
1986. I think to remember we had Mr. King as our teacher.

1970's |
I went to Greswold Infants/Juniors from 1969-1976. I started in Mrs
Parry's class and my later teachers were Mrs Bridgens, Mrs Harrison,
Mrs Rogers, Mrs Sudaby, Miss Pople and Mr Burley. Linda Seidal was a
teaching assistant. I also remember Mr Kent (he looked like one of
The Proclaimers only stood much taller in his duffle coat). Mrs
Bullivant was headmistress. I sat next to my cousin Martin Benton
for most of infants/juniors. We both lived in Lighthorne Road.
Friends were Ben Winsworth, Simon Reynolds, Stuart Hall, Stuart &
Andrew Wilson, John Arnold, Colin Ager, Martin Swift, Anthony
Turrell, Karen Evans. I fancied Ruth English (she was Scottish) but
was never brave enough to tell her.
Richard Cassidy
Error in my earlier post, Miss Pople was at my senior school, Tudor
Grange! I forgot to mention Mrs Johnstone though. She played us in
to assembly each morning on an upright piano decorated at the back
with colourful felt fish. It seemed that Bach's 'Chorale from
Cantata BWV 147' was her only tune! I think of Greswold Infant's
every time I hear it played.
Richard Cassidy
I was at Greswold School 1970. I lived on Thornby Ave. Jane Taylor
my best friend lived in Buryfield Road. i remember the very scary
Mrs Bullivant. She was straight out of a Dickens novel. Punitive
and cruel, as I remember.
Joanne Burns
Left Greswold school around 1972,and I lived around the corner in
Woodfield Road Looking to school friends
Marc Butler
Is there anyone out there who has
a better memory than me? I was there, left in 1971.
I can't remember many names - Steven Howe, Jimmy Mitra, Simon Hancox....er.....Jenny
Wits.....er...umn!

1960's |
Greswold Junior school 1966-69. I was there and it seems a life time
ago, where have the years gone. Definitely the happiest, care free
schooldays of my life. Isobel Lowe, Debbie Cook, Diane Watson (If
you're reading this Diane, you were my first crush, if only I had
been brave enough to tell you, who knows what the future may have
held!!) Steven Dann, Malcolm Hooper, Jane Taylor, Bev Yetman (is
your name Beryl?) Paul Nicholls, Simon Whitehouse, Clare Langstone,
Frances Hall, David Ewer and so many more who I would instantly
remember if I heard the name. Mr Hemmings (looked after the footy
team, I was the keeper) Mrs Harrison, Carnell, and the Mrs Bullivant
(aka as the Trunchbull, wow she was scarey). Hi to Andrew Pettitt,
not in my year but a Ferndown Road fellow resident, along with Paul
(pickles) Nicholls, Simon (Snoz) Whitehouse, Stephen and Caroline
Giles and Nigel Neville. Hope everyone I remembered here, and those
I havnt recalled, but haven't forgotten, are well and happy in their
middle age. The passage of time is remorseless, but the memories are
timeless.
John Aston
I was at Greswold until 1962/3. My form teachers included Miss
Hoggett and Mr. Kerr - perhaps Janet's Scottish form master. I also
remember a Miss Butterfield. Does anyone know what happened to a
girl called Jennifer Allen? I lived in Glebe Road and she lived
round the corner.
Margot Kuhnel
I remember Greswold infants and juniors. At school '66 to '73. I
really enjoyed those days. I remember all my teachers...Miss Turner,
Mrs Bolland/Mrs Wentle, Mrs Sudaby, Miss Knight, Mr Martin
(heart-throb), Mrs Harrison and Mrs Rodgers!! I remember winning the
netball tournament , sports days on the big field (I was in St
Patricks), singing Rudolph at the Christmas party and Miss Taylor
who taught the violin. My mum was dinner lady at the Infants, Mrs
Smith. Do you remember Mrs Ranson and Mrs Neville the dinner
ladies!!!!! The days are like yesterday
Lesley Sawrey (nee Smith)
I attended Greswold Infants then moved to the Juniors. I left the
Juniors in 1969 after the dreaded 11 plus.. Moving to the Juniors
meant walking across the field to the 'big' school. Teachers that I
remember in Infants: Ms Wood (headmistress) Ms Wentle, Ms Harding
Juniors: Miss Bullivant (headmistress, very strict), Mr Kerr , Mr
Carnell (my form teacher in one of the two Terrapins at the back of
the school hall) Mr Hemmings, Ms Hoggett? had lived in New Zealand.
Mr Kerr gave each pupil an ice cream cornet on leaving day. He might
have played the bagpipes to 'see us off'?
Breaktimes in the playground listening to Tony Blackburn on the
portable radios we all had back then. Listening to childrens hour on
the radio in the school hall. Watching 'The Adventures Of Robinson
Crusoe' series on TV in class. A girl called Jaqueline Hunt playing
the piano in morning assemblies.
Pupils names I remember: Lawrence Main, Sean O.Connell?? lived on
Lode Lane, Mark Selwyn, Paul and Barry Aymes, Claire Langstone, Gail
Arrowsmith, Susan Beck, Trevor ?? a childhood friend who lived in
Buryfield Road, Mark Sansome, Keith West
Happy Memories of a great school
Garry Knox
I was at Greswold from 1963-68, and also lived in Ferndown Road. We
lived at No. 44, with the Davis family at No. 42, the Faulkners at
No 46. Andrew, you lived opposite, and I recollect the Davison's not
far from you. Helen, sorry, but cannot remember you.
Philip
Powell
I remember you Andrew, I also lived in Ferndown Road You have
obviously moved on, I still live in Solihull and my children
attended Greswold (without the e) too. The day I took them in all
the memories came flooding back!
Helen Thatcher
I moved to Greswold for my final year at junior school from Wales -
must have been 1963. Had a Scottish form master (can't remember his
name) who taught us country dancing. Remember playing rounders and
getting a certificate for throwing a rounders ball a certain
distance and other events. Moved on to Harold Cartwright School.
Janet Gregory (now Jan Gray)
Lived in Ferndown Road so ended up at Greswold infants school and
Greswold junior school (please note there is no "e" in
Greswold !)
attended there mid 60's. must go back some time !!
