Queuing at the pumps - Shirley
Stratford Road - Tuesday 19th September 2000
Petrol Panic returned today with rumours of more protests. Huge queues caused major disruption around Solihull. Are you happy with the governments stance, has their P.R. been a disaster?

You Said...

The political eyes of the country will be on Shirley East at the end of the month when there is a local By-Election following the resignation of Councillor Mike Southcombe. Thursday the 28th September will be the peoples opportunity to return the same two fingered gesture to the government that it has received over the past few days from Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
Elizabeth Rawlings

I think it should continue until the government recognise the strength of peoples feelings. For far too long we have paid far too much for our fuel, which has a knock on effect making everything more expensive, i.e. food, clothing etc.
It is about time the government realised that the people who elected them are peeved big style at the oppressive tax regime that is applied to fuel in this country.
Roger Jackson

I fully endorse the sentiment behind the actions taken recently, but I would think the point has been made and now we should get on with the real world and allow the tankers out so we can all do our jobs
Neil Bromley

Poll results at 4.00pm on 10th October
57 were in support the fuel protests.
5 were not.
