I must say this pub has greatly improved since our last visit last
in april 2011. It's new management team and staff were really friendly
and couldn't do enough to help.

Following my previous remarks I contacted (by email) the company 3
times - No reply - can you wonder at the poor standards if the owners
cant be interested in customer care - it will be all tears when yet
another pub closes

Following a terrible visit we were issued £30.00 in vouchers so that
we would try it again - 10 of us eight meals came - oh sorry must have
forgotten you monies had been taken and receipts issued, missing 2 meals
we brought about 6 mins later - one was not cooked correctly - Of the
original 8 meals 2 came with chips the ladies had ordered Garlic Bread
oh sorry we had no bread so you've got chips - never mentioned when
orders were taken -Both lots of Baked potatoes were BLACK so over cooked
that they were uneatable - 1 gammon was almost raw - we spoke to staff
who had not enquired about things being OK I suppose that they knew
better than to ask - considering that Punch the owners had sorted things
out one wonders what it would have been like without their involvement
no wonder their trading figs are so poor - we are looking for a mid
priced pub to serve us about every 2 weeks we are between 8 to 20 people
each visit if any one can truly recommend anywhere local to Hall Green
or Shirley please help

Visited the Drawbridge today and was very impressed with the food.
All the steaks were lovely and cooked to perfection, served by very
polite and attentive staff. I will definitely be returning.

Visited on 11/11/10 for hubbys birthday. Big mistake!! steaks were
great couldnt fault but the chips were insipid and cold, and no veg!!
not even a mushroom or tomato. Had chocolate sundae. should have had
fruits of the forrest, pro. roll and topped with a wafer. Ended up being
a selection of ice cream and a piece of chocolate cake in the middle.
"New staff", was the comment. Even the barman said people are
complaining about the chips!! If he knows that why havent the comments
being passed on?

Twelve of us descended on the Drawbridge on Saturday afternoon to
celebrate a family birthday. The food was great value for money
and unlike in many pubs was delivered piping hot. Well done.

I used to love this pub and i admit the food is better than it used to
be. the only thing i didn't like were the intimidating door men. why are
they there? its a family pub!!!!!

This pub did really take alot of turning round. It had become a
playgound!! But the food is very very good. The new management have
taken on alot. Shame they need bouncers in the afternoon very off
putting but hopefully it will all come good in the end. Beautiful
location 4 the summer & hopefully it will all come good in the end.

Nice refurb but new management lets it down as they few times I have
visited they have been outside smoking and drinking, not a good
impression. Food we had was average, nothing special, wouldn't rush
back to eat. Bouncers are intimidating and what used to be a friendly
family pub is now full of youths and unfriendly. Shame really...

Good refurb visted for second time, felt a bit uneasy lots of young
people under age I guess. did not see any new management what a
disapointment they have to have sercurity use to be a nice quite to have
a drink.

Yesterday i visited for the 3rd time since the refurb & had a chat with
new bar staff & friends. The atmosphere is great, the food was beautiful
& fantastic value. It is cleaner, brighter & smells much better. The
landlady is very friendly, & it was nice to chat to her personally. What
a great job the new management are doing. Now all they need is a bigger
carpark because its like the old days....busy busy busy!!! Keep up the
good work.

Much better and clean since the refurb, only thing letting it down is
the total lack of choice for vegetarians on the menu, limited to the
ubiquitous bean burger or veg lasagne.

This pub is now under new management and having a massive refurb sounds
like it is going to be brilliant things are changing they have sorted
the staff out and got cleaned up

This pub is awful. Went in last week on a friday night. Dirty glasses
lined up all along the bar and it was more like an adventure playground
for kids. Children should be out of a pub at gone 10pm surely. Won't be
going back there again.

Went for a quite drink, I thought I had walked into Villa Park -
televisions so loud I could not speak to my partner, waited 15 minutes
to get served. This used to be a lovely pub with good management - needs
a new lease of life & new management!

I have lived by the pub for 5 years and have watched it slowly get
worse, i went in on jan 15th for a meal with friends. The steak we had
was awful and only 7 chips on my plate. The place is very drab inside
and the language from the staff is terrible. This poor pub needs a new
lease of life. very sad!!!!!

We travelled 200miles up to see Motorvans show at n.e.c, from
Eastbourne, met my mom up drawbridge, mom and dad always go there, i am
41 now, always went as kids all through childhood. I always say it has i
see it. We had 3 lovely steaks, and they were beautifully done, mom has
hers well done, me i had medium, mike same. We didnt wait long, there
was a table in about 25, and still only waited 10mins or so. the only
thing i would say is they need to change their apple pie, Mike said it u
could have given it to a baby. There were no chunks of apple in it
whatsoever. I always say to him not happy take it back, they dont know
until u tell them

Feb 14th 2009, special night you'd think. table booked for 4 people,
waited 1hr for 2 burnt steaks and 2 swimming cannelloni. not very busy
so ordered 2 sweets, waited 40mins, so fed up paid bill and left before
sweets came. would think twice about returning.

Used to be a good place to eat but now it's regularly an hour to
wait for food, even when the place is empty.

Waited 20 minutes at the bar before being served. was not
acknowledged in the meantime. then waited yet another 40 minutes for the
food i ordered which was burnt by a miserable looking lady who i later
found out was the manageress. not a nice experience at all.

20 of us turned up unannounced from a ceremony at the crematorium
on Monday lunchtime. Two pubs we tried to get in turned us away as they
would not serve children!
The Drawbridge staff did us proud. They catered for us without a fuss
(the landlady was cooking) and the food was marvellous - when it said on
the menu 2-for-£7, I wasn't expecting much, but boy was it good! We
don't live local, but if we are passing we will definitely pop in.
Well done to all the staff!

10/06/04 I live about 200 Metres from this place, and I love it.
Hope this weeks re-furb cures the chronic smoke problem......and the
toilet problem!
Mark, Majors Green
I agree about the smokey atmosphere, but I think it is a great pub to
visit..
Good food at cheap prices and the beer is excellent too.
Rob
Great place to visit, you all made us very welcome, especially Rcko,

Just to say HIM......Your a Knob!!!!

Mainly a family place, don't ever go here after a heavy clubbing weekend while still
dressed in your cyber-gear.

In dire need of refurbishment and decent air conditioning. This place is one for only
the most hardened smoker!!
Fosters Dash
Been going there for years!! its what id call my second home! Does attract the younger
people! it could do such much better trade if they put some
entertainment on e.g. band/DJ or
even just turn the music up a bit so you could here it! But cant complain one of the best
pubs around the area!
So if your ever in there! come say hello! we will probably be the noisy drunken ones in
the corner! Nice outside in the summer, cant beat it!
Pete Fumagalli
Great pub, great food, but please sort out the smoke problem in the main bar area!
Des
When are they going to get the air conditioning sorted out ?
When its busy this place is a candidate for smokiest pub in the world.
