We go every Sunday and sometimes on Saturday, we have tried almost every curry house there is in the area and this ono can't be beaten there is only one that comes very close that is Lloyds in Knowle. The food is amazing and I get withdrawal symptoms if I don't go .Why is it closed as I have just come of holiday and found out its not open

Best curries in the area. I've been aboard for a year in Oz (where the curry wasn't so good) and I craved the chicken dansak when I was away. It was the first thing I had when i got back.

Fantastic curry house, definitely my favourite place to go for a meal out. We love getting Christmas cards every year too!! :)  Wonderful service if you're a regular, so go there!

After waiting what seemed like an eternity for a prawn pathia what i got was very poor. The sauce was more like a paste and I barely got through a third of it before giving up and leaving.

This was my first and last visit to this restaurant.  I ordered a balti and it tasted like a watered down curry, not balti.  We were put on the smallest table for 2 I'd ever seen.  I asked if we could moved to a bigger table, which didn't go down too well - although there was about 10 tables free.  So not a good experience.  We eat a curry a week, so we know what a good curry is - and this was not.

I have been coming to this restaurant for the past 15 years, I have only had one bad meal in all of that time and I have to say although it may be a little on the pricey side it is well worth the money. The currys are not greasy and the portions are more than ample.

The chicken rogan josh was wkd!!!! The onion bhajis were excellent. and the nan bread was of a high quality.  staff were friendly. RECOMMENDED!!!!

To be honest the food was okay.  However this will be the last time I will be coming here.  The staff were rude, arrogant and the place has gone downhill over the past few years.  Perhaps with the new year its time for a new makeover.  Isn't it time to spice up the look of the place?? or are the management happy with the 80's decor??

Some people are duty bound to have fish on Fridays, our faith requires us to partake curry instead.  There's no better place to kneel at the 'Balti Alter' and receive the curry Communion than the Darjeeling. Enjoy!
