First visit after a good few years. Thought it was excellent. Decent pub grub, cooked well, nice ales and an enjoyable afternoon. My 3 year old was treated well and a very pleasant pub atmosphere. Will definitely go back.

Although the pub has a good range of real ales and a friendly atmosphere it really needs to sort out the restaurant. We have been several times on the evening with a view to eating and the restaurant is closed. Seems there is no consistency with the opening times.

I was delighted to find out the management had changed here, better food, better atmosphere, more customers, better beer, better prices! and dog friendly!

The bulls head has once again just undergone another management change, the food menu has changed and so has the atmosphere, what a transformation, the service has picked up twofold, and the staff are nothing but attentive and polite. A country pub as it should be!

Steve is what this pub has needed for a long time, great food, great atmosphere and overall a great person. Cannot fault the place.

Does anyone have any information about the owner in the 40s, a William Walters? Trying to trace the family tree and think he could be the key. Would be grateful of any information.

I arranged a Christmas meal for 17 early December and arrived to find there was a power cut, did that defeat Steve and his staff? They went out of their way to produce 17 pre -ordered 3 course meals that were delicious and Steve could not have been more attentive and apologetic - a great night was had by all and we didn't miss the Christmas songs one bit. Further to that another 16 of us pitched up for a meal on a Thursday a couple of weeks ago and once again, food and service was excellent...even the status quo tribute band (heavy rock I can't abide) were fab. If you want good quality food it is here in abundance - if you want "pierce and ping" they are out there aplenty!

I lunched there again recently only to find that the Stonehenge gramophone record has been removed.  Serves me right for mentioning it two entries ago.

I recently visited this pub (I live now in Bedfordshire). Used to drink here with my Solihull School mates in 1955/56. I could just about find the old pub tacked onto the side of the modern buildings. Nice to see what we used to call the Stonehenge Gramophone Record is still doing service as a table in the garden

Excellent food, great atmosphere and they sell famous Bomber ale. Angela and Steve run this pub well.

Had a great night for my birthday the food was great value and the service was very good. To follow the meal we then took part in the quiz and found it to be fun. I can recommend this place for a good evening out with a group or just a partner

To all that have not been to the bulls head for some time should give it a try. It has new managers and staff and the change is for the good.

Used to be a very good pub, stopped drinking and eating in there because food service was very slow and bad quality and management lacked social skills

Back Again... Brand new menu, more choice for children, got milk and cookies now.  The meal was astounding, fully fresh cooked to order.  We didn't mind the 25minute wait because it was worth it.  Staff as friendly as i remembered from our previous visit, met the landlord and landlady David and Vanessa, what a pleasant couple couldn't do enough to help us find a seat in the busy Restaurant. (our own fault i think for not booking)  Small selection of real ales but now in CAMRA good beer guide so quality guaranteed highly recommend the Bomber.  Keep up the good work guys will definitely be back and very soon.

I think this is a great pub. Never in my brief lifetime have I been lucky enough to drink in an establishment where the "managers" seem to be on there own little quest to ban everyone who drinks there before they finish their drink. I'm just so grateful that I could assist in there little private competition. Come on Vanessa, you've nearly barred the whole pub. You can do it.

Just visited for the first time in about 4 years, stopped going in because were told our children of 4 and 6yrs were not welcome, and wow what a turn around. Families now welcome, special meals for children all fresh food not processed, friendly atmosphere, no swearing or rowdy locals, full of very nice people, the managers young couple David and V didn't get her full name made every effort to make us feel welcome and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely go there again, we cant praise it enough what a difference from when we last visited.  Keep it up guys a fantastic job.

What is going on are Dave an Vanessa on a mission to destroy our local ? All the regulars now use the bluebell or the oak as most have been banned for little or no reason my mate got barred for drinking water on Thursday . The price went up 20p a pint not long ago ! Twaiths please act now an install a decent manager before we loose what was a very happy busy friendly little pub !

I was a regular at this pub for 15 years until Jan 08. The people running the pub now do not care about the customers, and they do not care about this once great pub either. Bring back Ian, Faith, Liam and the old staff - it used to be fantastic back then.

Fantastic pub - very friendly and helpful staff. Recommend the live bands on Thursday night - particularly Beatles One and Partners in Crime.

It was a friends 80th Birthday so having had many wonderful meals here (with these friends before too) we booked a table for five. Our starters were very good but when we started our main course our friend said her fish was cold in the middle. We quietly told the waitress and after a few minutes an obnoxious little man came and told us that the chef had probed the fish and it was hot enough to eat and basically if she didn't want to eat that meal we would have to pay for another one. Nothing was resolved and we walked out without finishing our meals.
A young couple walked out just after we did having been about to order a meal and told us they were not coming back to a place where the customer was treated so badly.
What a terrible night. We will not be returning.

Last visit I had was very disappointing (all previous times had been fine).  My meal was diabolical and my friend found a live slug in her salad (albeit a small one, but still!) - staff were very apologetic and offered us a discount.  But can definitely say will not be eating there again.  Otherwise, the pub itself has a good atmosphere and is good for a few beers.

Fantastic pub. Brilliant beer, and the 'no children' policy makes it a great place for adults to go with out having to tolerate screaming kids. brilliant landlord and landlady. A local regulars pub which welcomes all to its good beers range, and great food, with excellent staff and a great atmosphere. A must try for adults wanting to escape teenagers and children.

So friendly that the whole of the Saxon's regulars have moved there! well done to the land lord and land lady, great food/beer and always welcoming to all. You know how to treat your regulars !
Karen

Well, we live next door and to be honest the seating is a bit hard on the ass ! but apart from that we love it - the other places around here aren't too good. The food is excellent - we were there on Christmas day !! Perfect, and the staff are great too.
We recommend this place to anybody that wants a good meal and drink. And our comments are not because we are so near..
Nik

Great Place, Great Food, Gorgeous bar staff, fantastic friendly service, have some great bands on, always good for a night out.
Amnesiac

Not bad place for country pub food ok would recommend baguettes.
Definitely worth a try. not for teen 'wallies' though.
London Pride

A poor range of beers and uncomfortable seating ruin a potentially excellent pub/restaurant. The atmosphere is further spoiled by obnoxious regulars who seem determined to drive out other custom. A very unfortunate visit.
Mr. J. Evans

Great food, great in the summer and winter, but better on hot sunny days.
Landlord and landlady very friendly.
Mark Low

The Warsteiner beer is all good!
Stellavision

One of my favourites near where I live.
The staff are friendly and the food in the restaurant is thoughtfully prepared.
Definitely worth a try.
